The Mnarani Natural Aquarium is unlike any aquarium you have ever visited. Staff and local villagers are involved in the conservation and rehabilitation of turtles – all of which will eventually be released back into the wild.
The Sea Turtle Pond, a natural lagoon, is separated from the Indian Ocean by reef rocks and offers a better view of the turtles from a wooden pier. Several smaller ponds house the baby, juvenile and injured sea turtles.
Activities at the aquarium includes turtle interactions, swimming with the turtles and feeding these gentle creatures.
The Mnarani Natural Aquarium in Nungwi and its local Kilosa Nungwi Zoo are 15.3 mi / 24.6 km from Kena Beach Hotel & Villas.
